QuestionAnswer
What happens during beta decay? A neutron splits into a proton and an electron, and the electron flies away, raising the atoms atomic number by 1.
What causes gamma decay? Alpha or beta decay causes gamma decay.
Who discovered radioactivity? A french physicist name Henri Becquerel.
What is a half life? The amount of time it takes for half of a substance to radioactively decay.
What is an alpha particle? The nucleus of a helium atom, composed of 2 neutrons and 2 electrons.
