Radioactivity

radioactivity also called radioactive decay:the process by which an unstable nucleus gives off nuclear radiation
mass number the sum of the numbers of protons and neutrons in the nucleus of an atom
three types of radioactive decay? alpha,beta,and gamma
alpha decay least amount of penatration:found the most in radioactive material
beta decay 2nd most amount of penetration:found not as much as alpha decay
gamma decay the best penetration:fuond the least out of the three
