What are Polysaccharides? Polymers of Simple Sugars.
What are Mono-saccharides? Simple Sugars.
What are Fats? Fatty Acids, Glycerol, and sometimes an organic phosphate.
What are the roles of Macromolecules? Energy, Support, Transport
What are the functions of a Polysaccharides? Structural Support and Energy Storage
Molecular Mass for a Polysaccharides? Molecular Mass = Up to 100,000,000
Molecular Mass for a Protein? Molecular Mass = Up to 100,000 +
Molecular Mass for a Fat? Molecular Mass = 500-1000
What is a Polypeptide? A chain of amino Acids.
What is a Primary Structure? The Sequence of Amino Acids.
What is a Secondary Structure? The three-dimensional arrangement of the backbone atoms in a small region of a protein.
What is a Tertiary Structure? The three-dimensional structure of a complete polypeptide chain.
What is a Quaternary Structure? The three-dimensional arrangement of subunits in a proteins with more than one polypeptide chain.
