Forces activity

The total momentum of any group of objects remain the same unless outside forces also act on the objects. Law Of Consevation of momentum
Force a push or pull that gives energy to an object.
forces are measured in Newtons ; N Units Of Forces
Net Forces total of all the forces acting on an object.
The tendency of matter to resist a change in its motion. Inertia
Balanced forces The net force acting on an object is zero
Unbalanced Forces the net force acting on an object is not zero.
magnitude the amount (size) of a measurements.
Friction a forcethat one surface exerts on another when the two surfaces are in contact with each other.
Static friction friction between un moving objects
Kinetic friction friction between moving objects
Sliding friction friction between objects that slide ( rub ) against each other.
Rolling friction occurs when an object rolls over a surface
Fluid friction occurs when an object moves through a fluid or a gas.
New First Law Of Motion Objects at rest will stay at rest and objects in motion will stay in motion at a constant velocity unless acted on by an unbalnced force.
Newtons Second Law Of Motion The net force acting on an object is equal to the product of the objects mass and acceleration.
Newtons Third Law Of Motion For every action force there is a reaction force that is equal but acts in the opposite direction.
Law Of Universal Gravitation all objects in the univers are attracted to each other; strengh of attraction demends on the objects masses and distance from each other.
Freefall The motion of an object when gravity is the only force acting on it.
Terminal Velocity Greatest velocity of a falling object; occurs when the force of gravity is equal to the force of friction
Weight A measure of the force of gravity on an object.
Mass The amount of matter in something.
Centripetal Force The force thats pulling on an object in circular motion towards the center of the circle.
Geosynchronous Orbit Occurs when the object orbits another object at a rate equal to teh 2nd objects rate of rotation.
