α-Glucosidase includes Acarbose (Precose) and miglitol (Glyset)
Thiazaolidinediones includes pioglitazone (Actos) and rosiglitazone (Avandia).
Sulfonylureas and Meglitinides action increases insulin production from pancreas
Meglitinides Should not be taken if skipped meals
Taken this oral glucose med 30 minutes before meals Meglitinides
Biguanides -Metformin (Glucophage) action: Reduce glucose production by liver and Enhance insulin sensitivity at tissues
Does not promote weight gain Biguanides-Metformin (Glucophage)and DDP-4
Thiazolidinediones action: Improve insulin sensitivity, transport, and utilization at target tissues best for those with insulin resistance.
