2.4 Horizontal Energy Redistribution (Wind and Water)

How is energy redistributed? atomsphere does 75% of it (60% by sensible heat, 15% by latent heat) the oceans currents do the other 25%
Unequal heating creates.... Pressure gradient Force (PGF), which drives wind
Global Mean Sea Level Pressure is.... 1313hPa
A Hadly cell is.... a convective circulation cell on a non-rotating planet
Coriolis Force increase... with latitude
Hadley cells remain on Earth at.... 0 - 35 degrees latitude
Easterly Trades meet at..... Intertropical Convergance Zone (ITCZ)
Rossby Waves are found in..... Midlatitudes
High PGF at the polar front means.... strong jets
Jets at polar front ain't stable because..... Rossby waves create ridges (highs) and troughs (lows)
Compared to sea, land.... has a smaller heat capacity, has an opaque surface i.e. land surface temps vary alot more
