| Omphalocele | It is congential abdominal wall failure. It is often associated with other anomalies. It is covered by a translucent sac covering varying amounts of bowel. |
| DX: | It can be detected via ultrasound during pregnancy or at birth. |
| Treatment | If the sac is intact, a dressing is placed to prevent injury. If the sac is exposed, it is covered with bowel bag or moist dressing. IV fluids and antibiotics are administered. Nasogastric-OG is performed for gastric decompression. |
