Grade 9 Science Midterm (Space and Chemistry)

What is a meteorite? A stony or metallic mass that has fallen to the Earth's surface from outer space.
What is a meteor? A meteoroid that enters Earth's atmosphere and burns up as it collides with gas molecules.
What is a constellation? Groups of stars that seem to form shapes or patterns.
The Big Bang Theory States that the universe was created after an "infinitely dense point suddenly and rapidly expanded in a single moment".
Edwin Hubble's Findings 1) Many other galaxies exist beyond the Milky Way. 2) Almost all galaxies are moving away from each other.
