Cells The basic unit of life.
Cell Theory A fundamental unifying concept of biology.
Plasma membrane A protective envelope that separates the cell's internal environment from the surrounding external environment.
Organelles Internal structures that are specialized to perform specific functions.
DNA Specialized molecules that contain genetic instructions.
Prokaryotic cells Cells without a nucleus.
Eukaryotic cells Cells with a nucleus.
Nucleus An organelle inside a eukaryotic cell that contains the DNA.
