Relative Age Indicates that one layer is older or younger than another layer but does not determine the rocks age in years.
Law of Superposition Sedimentary rock layers are older then the layers above it and younger then the layers below it.
Intrusion
Fault
Principle of Original Horizontality sedimentary rocks left undisturbed will remain in horizontal layers.
Law of Cross-cutting Relationships Fault or igneous intrusion is always younger than the rock layers it cuts through.
