Plants and animal cells

cell wall is a rigid layer of non living material that protects the cell (only on plants)
cell membrane like the cell wall but for animal cells
chloroplasts capture sun and turn it into energy (only in plants)
vacuole stores water,food,waste,and other materials
mitochondria energy is produced within these rod shaped organelles
golgi body recieves materials and sends them to other parts of the cell.
cytoplasm is a gel like liquid that contains many different organelles
ribosomes these small bead like things produce proteins
nucleus it directs all of the cells activities
Endoplasmic Reticulum a network of passageways that carrie materials from one part of the cell to the other parts
lysosomes are small organelles that contain chemicals that break down certein particles
