Parts & Jobs Of Plant & Animal Cells

Cell Wall An outside wall of a cell to protect the cell.
Cell Membrane A part of a cell that controls what go's in and out of the cell.
Nucleus The Nucleus directs all of the cell's activities, including reproduction.
Vacuole The sac within the cytoplasm that stores water, food, waste products, etc.
Chloroplasts Organelles that capture energy from sunlight and use it to produce food for a cell.
Endoplasmic Reticulum This network of passageways carries materials from one part of a cell to another.
Lysosomes Organelles that contain chemicals that break down food particles and worn-out cell parts.
Ribosomes Small structures Are like factories that produce protein. they may be attached to the endoplasmic reticulum, or they may float in the cytoplasm.
Cytoplasm A gel-like fluid in which many different organelles are found.
Mitochondria Most of the cell's energy is produced within these rod-shaped organelles.
Golgi Body Receive materials from the endoplasmic reticulum and send them to the other parts of the cell. They also release materials outside of the cell.
