Layer of Earth and plate tectonics.

What is Pangea? A super-continent that exsisted millions of years ago.
How many plate tectonics is the broken into? 12 plate tectonics.
Transform boundries are when... two plates slide past each other horizontally.
What do transform boundries cause? A Friction.
What is the cause of change of the Earth's surface? Plate Tectonics.
Convergent boundries are when... plates are moving towards each other.
What is subduction? Subduction is when a heavier plate sinks under a lighter plate and goes back to the mantle.
Divergent boundries are when... plates are moving away fron each other.
What is made during a divergent boundry? New crust.
What is made during a convergent boundry? Mountain Ranges.
What is the layer of Earth that we live on? Crust.
What is the name of the viscous layer of Earth which is made of hot rocks? Mantle/ asphenosphere.
How much do plates move each year? About 2 cm.
What can accure during an eathquake? Land-slides, tsunamis, quicksand.
Whay do plates move? Because of the convention currents.
What is an oceanic plate? Crust that's under the oceans.
What is a continental plate? crust that's dry land.
What is the name of the layer of the Earth, that's liquid and is mostly iron and nicole? Outer core.
What is the name of the layer of the Earth the is a dense ball and is the hotest layer of the Earth? Inner core.
During which boundry does sunbductio often happen? Convergent boundries.
