QuestionAnswer
Sexual Repordution The production of an offspring that results when two genetic materials from two different cells combine.
egg Half of the genetic material is contained in an egg cell. (female)
Sperm The other half in the sperm. (male)
Fertilization is the fusing together of a sperm cell and an egg cell.
zygote The new cell that forms is called a zygote.
Meiosis is cell division that produces sperm or eggs from certain reproductive cells in an organism.
diploid cells in an organism that contains pairs of chromosomes that equal the chromosome number of that organism's species.
haploid A cell that contains one chromosome from each homologous pairs is called haploid cell.
