photosynthesis The process by which autotrophs use the energy of sunlight to produce high energy carbs that can be used as food
pigment Light absorbing molecules
chlorophyll a plant's principal pigment.
thylakoid saclike photosynthetic membranes
stroma the flued portion of the chloroplast, outside of the thylakoids
NADP accepts and holds 2 high energy electrons along with a hydrogen ion.
light dependent reactions require the direct involvement of light and light absorbing pigments
light independent reactions ATP and NADPH molecules produced in the light dependent reactions are used to produce high energy sugars from cabon dioxide
photosystem clusters of chlorophyll and proteins
