Life of Cell

QuestionAnswer
Lucosyte White blood cellrolling on inner lining of blood vessel while red blood cells flow rapidly.
P-Selectin Protein with structure. Acts like velcro.
Glco Protein Protein added to a carbohydrate.
Microville Humps on lucosyte allowing it to have more surface area.
Extra Cellular Domain Region outside of cells.
Lipid Raft Float in phospholipid bilayer.
Hydrocarbon Hydrogen and carbon.
Integro Protein Integrated protein.
More cholesteral, saturated fatty acids, and no kinks. More dense.
Less cholesteral, unsaturated fatty acids, and kinks. Less dense.
Proteoglycan Protein and sugar.
Endothelia Inside edge of blood vessel.
Lipid Nonpolar fat such as cholesteral.
3 parts of plasma membrane. phospholipid bilayer, cholesteral, and integroproteins.
Chemokine Cellular message.
Cytoskeleton Provides structure and transportation for protein.
Mitochondria Makes ATP for cell and is always dividing.
Nucleus has pours releasing? RNA
RNA is a copy of a? Gene(Recipie for protein)
RNA Single helix, ribose sugar, and ACUG.
Free ribosome makes? Protein for the cell itself.(Can be attached)
Top and bottom of golgi apperatus. Top trans and bottom cis.
Protein glyco zealation. Adding sugar.
Chemokine sends signal to white blood cell to make? Super velcro.
Every cell is surrounded by a? Phospholipid bilayer.
All things in cytoskeleton move by? Diffusion.
What helps break down cytoskeleton. Severing proteins.
Golgi Apperatus Adds sugar to protein to make sure it has the right shape.
Ribosomes read RNA to? Find which amino acid to attach.
Vessicals fuse with? Plasma membrane.
Prokaryote No nucleus, no membrane bound organelle, bacteria and very basic.
Eukaryote Has a nucleus and membrane bound organelles.
Peptide bond Two amino acids bond.
How does a cell make protein for itself? DNA makes a copy called RNA which is shipped out of the nucleus where it attaches to a free ribosome. The ribosome reads the first 3 letters. Never attaches to the rough E.R.
Parts of a prokaryote. DNA/Chromosomes, ribosomes, cell wall, cytoplasm/cytosol and plasma membrane.
What are the 3 things that can be made when bound to the rough E.R? Secreted protein, integral protein, or a lysosome.
Ribosomes are the only organelles that are not? Membrane bound.
Things that are not wanted are packaged in the? Vacuole.
Organelles Parts of a cell that have a function.
Differences between a plant and animal cell. Plants have a chloroplast, cell wall, centrasome but no centrioles, and a large central vacuole. Animals have lysosomes and a centrasome with a centriol.
Other than mitochondria, what divides on its own? Chloroplast.

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
