Lymphadenopathy enlargement of nodes due to infection/inflammation
lymphangitis inflammation of nodes and vessels due to infection
lymphoma malignancy of lymphoid tissue
Name the major lymph organs and tissues (6) thymus, tonsils, spleen, bone marrow, mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT)
Function of THYMUS source of T-cells, establish immunity in infants
Function of TONSILS filter air
Fn of Spleen lymphocytes, Ig's, B cells, stores venous blood, braks down old RBC, not vital but will lead to issues (High RBC in circ, lymph issues)
Location of MALT along intestine, mammalian equivalent of Bursa of Fabrisius, BCells
EBV Epstein-Barr Virus, associated with many lymphomas and also mono
HIV human immunodeficiency virus, infects T cells and macrophates
