Safety Symbols Are recognizable symbols designed to warn about hazardous materials or locations.
Waft To carry lightly and smoothly through the air or over water.
Conserve Keep in safety and protect from harm, decay, loss, or destruction.
Procedure A process or series of acts especially of a practical or mechanical nature involved in a particular form of work.
Emergency Safety Equipment Equipment that you put on when there is an emergency.
Preventive Safety Equipment Equipment that you put on to prevent an emergency.
Bunsen Burner Small gas burner used to heat test tubes in the lab.
Eyedropper Allows you to add a small amount of Liquid, one drop at a time.
Flask Small, bottle-shaped glass container used in a lab.
Funnel Cone-shaped tool that helps you to pour liquids or fine powders into a narrow opening without spilling.
Glass Slides Thin, clear, rectangular pieces of glass, upon which specimens are mounted before being viewed under a microscope.
Graduated Cylinder Thin,cylindrical container used to measure and pour exact amounts of a liquid.
Hand lens Hand held device used to magnify materials during observations.
Magnifying Glass Light microscope consisting of a single convex lens that is used to produce an enlarged image.
Microscope Enables you to see things to small to be viewed by the naked eye; sometimes has more that one lens.
Petri Dish A shallow dish used to culture bacteria.
Ruler Measuring stick consisting of a strip of wood or metal or plastic with a straight edge that is used for drawing straight lines and measuring lengths.
Safety Goggles Used to protect eyes in a lab.
Scale An instrument used for weighing.
Specimen A sample of something used in a lab or analysis.
Stopper A piece of rubber put into the opening of a test tube to prevent spillage; sometimes has a hole through which a hollow glass tube is inserted.
Tongs Device with two long arms hinged together; used in the lab to hold a test tube or flask to avoid injury.
Test Tube Used to hold test tubes upright.
Thermometer Measuring instrument for measuring temperature.
Periodic Table Of Elements Useful scientific chart with information about the elements.
Test Tube Rack Holds test tubes.
