Food Chain

What is the source of all energy? Sun
What are the main producers in a food chain? Plants
What is the difference between the prey and the predator? The prey is the animal being caught and eaten and the predator is the animal catching the smaller animal and eating it.
What is the role of a scavenger? A scavenger eats dead animals.
What is a consumer? A consumer eats other plants or animals.
What is a herbivore? It is an animal that eats only plants.
What is a carnivore? It is an animal that eats only meat.
What is an omnivore? It is an animal that eats both meat and plants.
What is a decomposer? It is bacteria of decay, the last step in a food chain that breaks down dead material.
