what are groups of molecules that are joined together? Macromolecules.
what are four main macromolecules of life? carbohydrates, nucleic acids, lipids, and proteins.
Carbohydrates are what? organic macromolecules that are made up of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen atoms.
These atoms are combined in a what? ratio.
A group of atoms that is held together by covalent bonds is known as a what? molecule.
what is an organic molecule? bonding occurs between two or more carbon atoms.
Nucleic acids consist of a what? five-carbon sugar.
DNA stores what? genetic information.
Hormones are what? protein-containing substances that play a role in the regulation of cellular functions.
Proteins are also involved in what? cell signaling, cell transport, immune responses, and the cell cycle.
what ends in -ase? enzymes.
what do enzymes do? speed up chemical reactions.
Glycogen, starch, and cellulose are all examples of what? polysaccharides.

Fats are important because why? they are a major source of energy.
The most important lipids are? fats.

how do you test for a starch? biurets.
why is an apple a lipid? because the skin is wax.
which organic molecule is cake? and why? lipid because it has a long term storage.
