Lab safety.

QuestionAnswer
What should you do before you begin an experiment? Read entire lab procedures.
When should you perform the experiment? Only when a teacher has given you permission and when the teacher is supervising.
Should your work area be cluttered with your stuff all over the lab? No, keep it neat and clean.
What kind of shoes should you wear in a lab? Closed toe shoes.
What kind of clothes should you wear? If possible clothes made of cotton.
If you have long hair should you leave it down or up? Down so it doesn't get in the chemicals.
If you were to get a chemical in your eye what should you do? Go to your eyewash station and flush your eye out with water fr at least 15 minutes.
Should you bring in your food, or make up? No, the chemicals might spill on them and you not know.
How would you cut something in a lab? Cut in a direction that is away from your body.
When you done with the experiment what should you do? Clean up everything, then wash your hands with warm water and soap.
Should you taste any chemical? No, do not ever taste a chemical!
Should you pour water into acid? No it will blow up!
When a chemical spills on the floor, on the lab table, etc. What should you do? Report it to the teacher immediately.
When a glassware has a chip or a crack, what should you do? Report it to teacher and ask for another one, do not use that one.
True or false. Never insert glass tubing into a rubber stopped without teacher permission. True.
Should you use a cord that is damaged? No.
When heating a test tube, how should you point it? Point the opening of the test tube away from yourself and others.
When picking up hot objects what should you use? Tongs or insulated gloves.
When you have any allergies or any medical conditions what should you do? Notify the teacher so she knows.
When you see a plant in a lab what should you do? Not touch it until you are given permission to do so.
Should you drink unpurified water? No.
When your outside what kind of clothes should you wear? Long pants, long sleeves, socks,a dn closed-toe shoes.
After being in a field what should you do? Wash your hands.
What is a good thing to wear over your clothes? A lab coat.
What should you wear over you eyes? Safety goggles.
