Why do we need all those species? biologically diverse ecosystems are usually more stable than simple ones
keystone specie is the specie that holds the whole ecosystem together. If you remove it, then the whole ecosystem system can collapse.
Example of a keystone specie flying fox bat in South Pacific Islands. This bat was the only pollinator and seed disperser. Then the fruits stopped growing.
Carrying capacity the # of individuals in a pop. that tne environ, can maintain.

negative feedback "I have enough, I don't need anymore, so I stop that production"
