What is a sea? A large body of water partially or entirely enclosed by land
Define trenches. deep canyon on sea floor that is usually present where 2 plates came together
What is coral made of? calcium carbonate
Define atoll. A ring of coral& reef surrounding lagoon
How does the moon affect the ocean water? The moon's gravity attracts the ocean water to create the tides.
When does a spring tide occur and is it a higher or lower-than-usual tide? When the sun, moon and earth are lined up. It's higher than normal.
Define Breaker. Water at top of waves peaks sharply then falls over on front side of the wave
What is the best way to swim out of a rip current? At a right angle to the current.
What is a type of ocean erosion that looks like a natural bridge? A sea arch.
What is a spit? A narrow strip of sand.
What does a hook have to do with a spit? It is a spit that has a sharp bend.
