general disjunction rule used to compute the probability of either two events whether or not they are mutually exclusive
negation rule useful for computing the probability of an event when the probability of an event not happening is either known or easily computed
bayes theorum a rule used for evaluating the conditional probability of two more more mutually exclusive and jointly exhaustive events
