QuestionAnswer
What is simulation? the process or act of imitation or acting out.
What is an initial carrier? first person in the group to get a contagious disease.
What is a model? a way of representing something in the world to learn more about it.
What is representation? a likeness or image of something.
What is epidemiology? the study of how and why diseases occur.
What is sentinel case? a person who begins the spread of disease in a group.
What is epidemiologist? a scientist who studies diseases and how they spread.
What is a communicable disease? a disease that spreads very readily from person to person.
What is a non-communicable disease? a disease that cannot be passed on by the person who is sick.
How are simulations and models related? Models are used in simulations.
Why are records important to keep? Allows scientists to keep track of diseases easier.
Why do scientist use models? Models are at a size where people can easily use them
