Atmosphere The layer of gases that surrounds the earth.
78% Percentage of Nitrogen in the atmosphere.
21% Percentage of Oxygen in the atmosphere.
Density The amount of mass in a certain amount of volume.
Troposphere The lowest level of the atmosphere; All of the weather takes place here.
Stratosphere The second level of the atmosphere; This layer contains ozone which absorbs harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun.
Mesosphere The third level of the atmosphere; Most Meteors that enter the atmosphere burn up here.
Thermosphere; The fourth level of the atmosphere; Here the atmosphere meets with outer space.
The Greenhouse Effect When gases in our atmosphere trap the heat and keep us warmer.
Common Greenhouse Gases Wator vapor, carbon dioxide, and methane.
Causes of Greenhouse Gases Cars and trucks; Animal respiration; Livestock farts; burning coal;**Ocean water evaporation**; forest fires; landfills;volcanoes; deforestation
Evaporation When liquid water turns into a gas when heated by the sun.
Transpiration When water is evaporated through plants.
Condensation When water as a gas changes back to a liquid; This forms clouds.
Precipitation When liquid water falls back to the earth.
