What are two things that food gives organisms? energy and raw materials needed to carry on life processes
What are 2 ways that organisms get nutrients from food? replace cells and body parts
What are the 5 chemical building blocks of cells? proteins, carbohydrates, ATP's, lipids, and nucleic acid
a protein found in red blood cells that attatches to oxygen hemoglobin
proteins that speed up chemical reactions enzymes
carbohydrates made up of one sugar molecule or a few linked sugar molecules simple carbohydrates
What does a cell contain? all of the materials necessary for life
What are 3 examples of stimuli? chemicals, gravity and light
What does DNA do? it controls the structure and function of cells
What do orgnaisms pass on to their offspring? copies of their DNA
How does a single-celled organism grow? by getting larger and dividing and aking other organisms
