What do organisms need in the place where they live? the things they need to survive
What are two things food gives organisms? energy and raw materials
What are two ways organisms use nutrients from food? to replace cells and to build body parts
What are nutrients made up of? molecules
What are the five chemical building blocks of cells? proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, ATP, nucleic acids
How do cells use carbohydrates? as a source of energy and energy storage
carbohydrates made of one sugar molecule or a few linked sugar molecules simple carbohydrates
a carbohydrate made of hundreds of molecules linke together complex carbohydrates
How do cells get energy from carbohydrates and lipids? by transferring the energy to ATP
