When medications are in the body, there are four things that can occur via a biochemical process Aborption, distribution, metabolism and secretion
Transmission of medications from the location of administration to the bloodstream Absorption
Locations of administration where absorption takes place... GI tract, muscle, skin, or SC tissue
The two most common routes of administration are: Eneteral (through GI tract) or parental (by injection)
