Tool An object that helps you do work
Measurement The process of using tools to observe an object’s physical properties like mass, volume, temperature, etc.
Telescope A tool used to observe distant objects on Earth and in space
Microscope A tool used to view objects too small to see with the eyes alone
Hand Lens A tool used to magnify small objects
Balance Scales A tool that is used to measure mass
Triple Beam Balance The function of a balance is to measure the mass of objects.
Metric Ruler A tool used to measure lengths and distances
Spring Scale A tool that measures weight
Graduated Cylinders A glass container with markings used to measure volume
Beaker A glass container with a spout and measurement marks
Thermometer A tool used to measure temperature
Calculator Helps to solve math problems
Stopwatch Measures time
Sand Timer A device for the measurement of a specified amount of time.
Compass Shows direction
Magnet Attracts iron
Collecting Net Gathers animal specimens
Camera Records pictures

Hot Plate A tool used to heat objects
