KAVA similar to benzos, produces mild euphoria, do not take c cns depressants, do not take if prego/lactating/child <12yo, monitor CBC & resp status!
MELATONIN influences sleep/wake cycles, use c caution c benzos/cns depressants, CONTRAINDICATIONS: hepatic insuff, hx CVA, depression, neuro disorders
antianxiety meds (both pharm & herbals) used for insomnia/seizures/panic attacks/acute manic episodes, se: ha/cardiac issues/confusion/elevations in liver enzymes/urinary retention, considerations: monitor liver function, avoid alcohol, monitor levels
