What are the rules for graphing? Include: heading, title, label axis', use pencil and ruler, scale, and key.
What are the steps of translating a piece of DNA for protein synthesis? DNA--> RNA--> Amino Acid.
What are the parts of a microscope? Ocular(eyepiece), Nose piece, Arm, Coarse adjustment, Fine adjustment, Base, light source, diaphragm, stage, stage clips, objectives.
What are the functions of each part of the microscope? Ocular: What you look through to see the specimen. Nosepiece: holds all the objectives and spins them. Coarse adjustment: focuses under scanning. Fine adjustment: focuses under high or low power. Base: bottom of microscope, for holding.
What are the functions of each part of the microscope? (2) Light Source: lights up the specimen being viewed. Diaphragm: how much light, and contrast. Stage place for the specimen to rest. Stage Clips: holds the specimen down. Objectives: scanning lens(4X), low power(10)X, high power(40X).
How should a microscope be carried and prepared for storage? With two hands(one on arm one on base), like a baby. Preparation for storage: 1. Stage all the way down. 2. Switch to scanning lens. 3. Wrap cord around base. 4. Put cover on.
How do you find the total magnification? Ocular X Objective= Total Mag. (Ex.Total Mag. while on scanning= 40)
How do you determine the size of a specimen? Field of View (mm)/ # of times object fits in field of view= Estimated size
