QuestionAnswer
What is a light year? The distance light travels in one year.
What is a nebula? a cloud of gas and dust in which new stars form.
What is a black hole? A point in space that has such a strong force of gravity that nothing within a certain distance of it can escape.
What is a galaxy? A huge system of stars, dust and gas held together by gravity.
What is a constellation? A group of stars that forms a pattern.
List 3 facts about Jupiter. It has 63 moons, the average temperature is negative 166 degrees Fahrenheit, it is the largest planet in the solar system.
List 3 facts about the sun. The sun is the closest star to earth, the sun gives off light and heat that the earth needs to survive, the sun is medium size, it is the brightest star.
What is true of ALL stars? The give off heat, they are great balls of hot gas, the color tells how how the star is.
Inner planets are: closest to the sun, they have fewer moons and they do not have rings.
Outer planets: are farthest from the sun, have many moons, have rings.
