| Pituitary Gland | Regulates the activity of the thyroid, adrenals, and reproductive glands. It stimulates the growth of bone and other body tissues. |
| Thyroid | Produces thyroxine and triiodothyronine, which controls the rate at which cells burn fuel to produce energy. Plays a key role in growth and the development of the brain and nervous system in children. |
| Parathyroids | Releases parathyroid hormone, which helps regulate the level of calcium in the blood. |
| Thymus | Produces T-cells that help fight off bacteria and viruses. Starts to disappear once you turn thirteen. |
| Adrenal Glands | Produces corticosteroids, which regulates the body's response to stress, metabolism, the immune system, and sexual development and function. Also produces adrenaline, which increases blood pressure and heart rate when the body expiriences stress. |
| Pancreas | Produces hormones, such as insulin, which help maintain normal blood sugar levels. |
| Ovaries | The ovum-producing, female reproductive organ. The ovaries secrete the hormones estrogen and progesterone. |
