Endocrine Glands

QuestionAnswer
Thymus a lymphoid organ situated in the neck of vertebrates that produces T cells for the immune system.
Hypothalamus a region of the forebrain below the thalamus that coordinates both the autonomic nervous system and the activity pituitary.
Testes an organ that produces sperm.
Pineal a pea sized conical mass of tissue behind the third ventricle of the brain, secreting a hormone like substance in some mammals.
Ovary a female reproductive organ in which ova or eggs are produced, present in humans and other vertebrates as a pair
Thyroid a ductless glandular organ at the base of the neck that produces lymphocytes and aids in producing immunity; atrophies at age
Pancreas a long, irregular shaped gland in vertebrates, lying behind the stomach, that secretes pancreatic juice into the duodenum and insulin, glucagon, and somatostatin into the bloodstream
Parathyroids any of usually four small kidney-shaped glands that lie in pairs near or within the posterior surface of the thyroid gland and secrete parathyroid hormones.
Adrenals to enable your body to be able to deal with stress
Pituitary an extract from the anterior of posterior lobes of the pituitary gland, prepared for therapeutic use.
