| Optics | Relating to the eyes or to vision |
| Ozone | A gas in the atmosphere that traps the heat energy from the Sun. Ozone is the gas responsible for the gradual increase of the atmosphere's temperature known as the Greenhouse Effect |
| Physical Properties | The characteristics of a substance that can be observed or measured without changing the substance |
| Photosynthesis | The process by which plants make food |
| Precipitation | Water falling from the sky in the form of rain, snow, sleet or hail. |
| Prism | An object used to refract while light into the visible electromagnetic spectrum |
| Properties | Something about an object that helps tell about what it is. (color, texture, taste are some properties of these apples) |
| Rainbow | An arc of color in the sky. |
| Reflection | The light energy that bounces off objects |
| Refraction | The bending of light rays when they pass through a substance |
| Solar Energy | The energy of sunlight |
| Solid | The state of matter that has a definite shape and a definite volume |

| Texture | How something feels. Texture can be rough, smooth, soft or slick |

| Vibration | The back and forth movement of matter producing sound |
| Volume (measurement) | The amount of space that an object takes up. |
