tornado | rapidly whirling, funnel shaped cloud that reaches down from a storm dow to touch Earth's surface |
hurricane | tropical storm that has winds of 119km per hour or higher |
storm surge | dome of water that sweeps across the coast where the hurricane lands |
evacuate | move away temporarily |
flash flood | sudden violent flood that occurs within a few hours or even minutes of a storm |
meteroligists | scientes who study the causes of the weather and try to perdict it |
isobars | lines joining place on the map that have the same air pressure |
isotherms | lines joing places on the map that have the same temerature |
