| Coast | where a body of water meets land |
| Tributary | small river or stream that feeds into a larger river |
| River | a natural body of moving water that flows to the ocean |
| Waterfall | a natural stream of water falling from a high place |
| Lake | a body of water surrounded by land |
| Estuary | the area where river water & ocean water meet |
| Delta | the mass of land that forms at the mouth of a river where it meets the ocean |
| Inlet | narrow body of water off of a larger body of water |
