3 types of rocks and experiment

What are the 3 types of rocks? Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic
What are the two things that form rock? Heat and pressure
What are igneous rocks formed from? Heat
What are igneous rocks made out of and how are they made? They are very solid and they are made from magma which cools on the outside of the volcano.
What are sedimentary rocks formed from? Pressure
What are sedimentary rocks made out of and how are they made? They are made up of layers of sand and clay. They are crumbly and break apart easily. The sand and clay crushes down on itself to form this rock.
What are metamorphic rocks formed from? Heat and pressure
How do metamorphic rocks start out? As either igneous rocks or sedimentary rocks.
How are metamorphic rocks made? From great pressure that creates heat
In what state did all the rocks in the world once exist? As melted rock
What breaks rock down? Wind and water (and plants) break rock down and make sand
What is dirt? Broken down rock
What materials do you need to do the crystal experiment? 1. Black construction paper 2. measuring cup and spoon 3. 1/4 cup Epsom salt 4. 1 cup warm water 5. Jar lid 6. scissors and pencil
