3 types of rocks and experiment

| What are igneous rocks formed from? | Heat |
| What are igneous rocks made out of and how are they made? | They are very solid and they are made from magma which cools on the outside of the volcano. |
| What are sedimentary rocks formed from? | Pressure |
| What are sedimentary rocks made out of and how are they made? | They are made up of layers of sand and clay. They are crumbly and break apart easily. The sand and clay crushes down on itself to form this rock. |
| What are metamorphic rocks formed from? | Heat and pressure |
| How do metamorphic rocks start out? | As either igneous rocks or sedimentary rocks. |
| How are metamorphic rocks made? | From great pressure that creates heat |
| In what state did all the rocks in the world once exist? | As melted rock |
| What breaks rock down? | Wind and water (and plants) break rock down and make sand |
| What is dirt? | Broken down rock |
| What materials do you need to do the crystal experiment? | 1. Black construction paper 2. measuring cup and spoon 3. 1/4 cup Epsom salt 4. 1 cup warm water 5. Jar lid 6. scissors and pencil |
