Equinox Two days a year when the hours of daylight equal the hours of darkness
Solstice Two days a year when hours of daylight and darkness are at their least or greatest
Summer Solstice Beginning of summer; longest period of daylight
Winter Solstice Beginning of winter; shortest period of daylight
Tides Daily rise and fall of the oceans, caused by pull of gravity of the moon
Neap Tide Tides that are least extreme; occur during 1st and 3rd quarter moon
Spring Tide Tides that are most extreme; occur during new and full moon
