QuestionAnswer
jurisdiction the authority of a court to hear and decide a case.
plaintiff the person who initiates a law suit
defendant the party who must defend against the complaint
exclusive jurisdiction cases that can olny be heard in federal court.
appellate jurisdiction this court is the higher court and may uphold, overrule, or in some way modify the decision appealed from the lower court.
original jurisdiction a court that hears a case on appeal from a lower court.
concurrent jurisdiction have the power to hear olony state cases
