Earthquakes!

It is about earthquakes and where they happen.

QuestionAnswer
Earthquake Movement of the ground that occurs when rocks inside Earth pass their elastic limit break suddenly and experience elastic rebound.
Richter Scale An instrument used to detect and record earthquakes.
Ring of Fire The zone of earthquakes and volcanoes surrounding the Pacific Ocean.
Seismograph Used to measure the strength of earthquakes.
Seismic Waves Waves from an earthquake are known as theses.
Focus The area of the earth's surface that is directly above the origin of an earthquake.
Tectonic Plates The large. thin, plates that move relative to one another on the outer surface of the Earth.
Fault A crack in the earth's surface along which movement takes place.
Tsunami Large ocean wave created by undersea earthquakes or volcanic eruptions.
Epicenter The point within the earth where am earthquake rupture starts.
Subduction The process of an oceanic plate colliding with and descending underneath a continental plate.
