How is the composition of the inner planets different from the outer planets? Inner planets are dense and rocky. Outer planets are made mostly of gases.
Why does the appearance of the Moon change over the course of one month? The moon revolves around the Earth and the Earth revolves around the Sun.
Why does Earth have days and nights? As Earth rotates on its axis, half is facing the Sun while the other half is facing away from the Sun.
