What are rocks made up of? Minerals
What are minerals? Minerals are inorganic, solid materials found in nature.
What are rocks? Rocks are usually made up of two or more minerals.
How can you identify minerals? List the ways you could identify minerals. Streak, cleavage and fracture, color, luster and hardness.
What are igenous rocks and how are they formed? What are two types of igneous rocks? Igenous rocks form when melted rock material from inside the earth cools. The two tyoes of igneous rocks are called extrusive and intrusive igneous.
What are sedimentary rocks? What are the three types of sedimentary rocks? It is a type of rock made from pieces of other rocks, dissolved minerals or plants and animals mattter that collect to form rock layers. The three types of sedimentary rocks are detrital, chemcial and orgainc.
What are metamorphic rocks and what does the word metaphoric mean? What are the two types of metamorphic rocks? New rocks that form on existing rocks are heated or squeezed but are not melted are called metamorphic rocks. The word metamorphic means "change of form." The two types of metamorphic rocks are foliated and nonfoliated.
What is the rock cycle made to do? The rock cycle is made to describe how different kinds of rocks are related to one another and how rocks change from one type to another.
