Dialysis The process of removing wastes and excess fluid from the body of people whose kidneys have failed
Infection A diease state because of an invading and growth of microbes in the body

Bacteria A microscopic cell that can cause disease
Pathogen A microbe that is harmful and can cause and infection
Virus A microorganism that must get energy and food from other living cells
Artery A blood vessel that carries blood away from the heart
Vein A blood vessel that carries blood back to the heart
Venipuncture Is inserting a needle into a vein
Tourniquet A tight band around the arm
Metabolism The burning of food for heat and energy by the cells
