QuestionAnswer
Centriole A barrel-shaped structure that has a role in microtubule formation in cilia, flagella, and eukaryotic spindles.
Haploid Having one of each type of chromosome characteristic of the species.(Human gamete is haploid) (배우자, 생식세포-gamete)
Sister chromatid One of two attached members of a duplicated eukaryotic chromosome.
Centromere Constricted region in a eukaryotic chromosome where sister chromatids are attached.
Cleavage furrow Aring of Actin filaments begin to contract at equator.
Cell plate formation Microtubules & Actin filaments use in mitosis determine plane of division.
Diploid Having two of each type of chromsome characteristic of the species.
Zygote Cell formed by fusion of gametes ; first cell of a new individual.
Crossing over Process in which homologous chromosomes exchange corresponding segments during prophase I of meiosis. (put onoparental combinations of alleles in gemete.)
Homologous chromosome one of a pair of chromosomes in body cells of diploid organisms.(same length, shape, genes)
sex cell(Gamete) Mature, Haploid reproductive cell.(egg or sperm)
Spores A dominant, reproductive cell formed by certain organisms.
True breeding A kind of breeding in which the parents with a particular phenotype produce offspring only with the same phenotype.
probability Chance that a particular outcome of an event will occur; depends on the total number of outcomes possible.
P generation The first set of parents crossed in which their genotype is the basis for predicting the genotype of their offspring, which in turn, may be crossed.
F1 Generation The first filial generation, which is comprised of offspring resulting from a cross between stains or distinct genotype
F2 generation The second filial generation, which is comprised of offspring(s) resulting from a cross of the members of F1 generation
Genotype The particular alleles carried by an individual.
Phenotype An individual's observable traits.
Karyotype Image of an individual's complement of chromosomes arranged by size, length, shape, and centromere location.
Autosome Any chromosome other than a sex chromosome.
Sex chromosome Member of a pair of chromosomes that differs between males, and females.
Pedigree Chart showing the pattern od inheritance of a gene in a family.
Recessive With regards to an alleles, having effects that are masked by a dominant allele on the homologous chromosome.
Spindle fibers Any of a network of filaments that collectively form a mitotic spindle (in mitosis) and meiotic spindle (in meiosis). It is chiefly involved in moving and segregating the chromosomes during nuclear division.
Heterozygous Having two different alleles at a gene locus; Aa
Chromatin loose uncoiled DNA
Chromosome coiled(single)
Chromatid Attached
Apoptosis Nutural cell death
