Atmossphereic Layers

QuestionAnswer
Troposphere This is where all the plants and animals live and breathe. Where weather takes place. Air is mixed. Temp decreases w/altitude.
Ozone Layer Is the only gas that absorbs ultraviolet rays from the sun. Protects earth from UV rays from sun
Stratosphere Ozone layer stops many of the suns harmful rays. Can't breathe in this layer.
Mesosphere Temp. decreases w/altitude. This is where we see falling stars. Where meteros burn up as they fall to earth.
Thermosphere Layers of atmosphere first exposed to sun radiation and heated first. Air is thin, temp depends on solar activity
Ionosphere A part of the Thermosphere. Not an actual part of the atmosphere
Exosphere Highest layer of the atmosphere. Air is very thin. Atoms and molecules escape into space.
