What is a Mineral? A naturally occurring inorganic solid that has a speciic crystal structure and a specific chemical composition.
What is a Crystal? A solid in which the atoms are arranged in a pattern that repeats again and again.
What is the scale minerals hardnesses are measured on? Moh's hardness scale
What is a Fracture? The way a mineral looks when it breaks apart in an irreguler way.
What is Cleavage? A minerals ability to split easily along flat surfaces.
What is Hardness and how is it measured? A test that ranks the minerals from softest to hardest numbers 1-10 (Moh's Hardness Scale.
