Atmosphere a layer of gases that surrounds a planet or moon
Troposphere the layer of the atmosphere that we live in

Stratosphere the ozone layer is in this layer of the atmosphere
Oxygen the second most common gas in Earth’s atmosphere

Runoff water that flows over earth’s surface
Groundwater water that has sunk back into earth’s surface
Precipitation the process of water returning to the earth as rain, snow, sleet, or hail
Condensation the process of a gas changing into a liquid
Evaporation the process of a liquid changing into a gas
Thermosphere The layer of the atmosphere that is the hottest
Ozone Layer what protects us from ultraviolet radiation
Weather the current atmospheric conditions of an area
Air Pressure the force of the Earth’s atmosphere pushing down on the Earth
Radiation Koche sitting under his heat lamp an example of this
Convection boiling water an example of this
Conduction touching a hot pan would be an example of this
Radiation the transfer of heat by electromagnetic waves
Convection the transfer of heat by the movement of a fluid
Conduction the transfer of heat by direct contact
Hydrosphere all of the water on the Earth
Water Cycle the continuous movement of water on in and above the Earth’s surface
Stratus the type of cloud covers the whole sky
Stratus this type of cloud is white to dark grey and can bring rain
Cumulus this type of cloud usually indicates fair weather
Cumulus this type of cloud is puffy with flat bottoms
Cirrus this type of cloud is made of ice crystals because they form only at high altitudes
Cirrus this cloud has wispy edges
Cumulonimbus this type of cloud can be very tall and can produce thunder, lightning, hail and tornadoes
Cumulonimbus this type of cloud forms from piled up cumulus clouds
Cold Front this front is followed by cool dry weather
Cold Front this front brings thunderstorms when it is moving through
Warm Front this front is followed by warm clear weather
Warm Front this front brings light rain when it is moving through
Hurricane a large dangerous storm that forms over warm tropical water
Land or Cold Water a hurricane loses its strength over either of these
Anemometer a tool to measure wind speed
Stormy Weather when air pressure is falling, this type of weather can be expected
Nice Weather when air pressure is rising, this type of weather can be expected
Barometer a tool that measures air pressure
Cloud a group of water droplets condensed onto dust or smoke particles in the atmosphere
Eye the calm center of a hurricane
Storm Surge a budge of water associated with a hurricane that causes flooding
