| Aristocracy | A form of government where power rests in the hands of a small, privaleged ruling class rather than the general public |
| Confederal system | A form of government where independent, sovereign states form a loose alliences and give only very limited power to a weak central government |
| Democracy | a system where the citizens hold political power and exerice it either directly or through elected representatives |
| Dictatorship | a form of government where one person or a small group holds total power without limits from a constitution or laws |
| Federal system | a form of government that divides power between a central natiional government and smaller regional government, such as states or provinces |
| Institutions | an established, formal organization or system created by public authority to make, interpret, enforce, and administer laws and public policy |
| Oligarchy | A system of government where a small group of people holds all the power |
| Political Culture | Is the shared set of belifs, valuves, and attitudes that a population holds about its government and political system |
